so i rode from fairfax, va back home to dc on wed. night, the first snowfall in our area. it was really coming down at 9 at night too. forgot how annoying snow is to get off of your visor. but i had to go out to my nephews place and play some motogp 3 on xbox. this game is awesome, anybody played it? i'm hooked, anyways, my nephew, who just started driving a ducati a few months ago, was freaked out that i was actually gonna drive home in snow. hehhehehe... its not as bad as sleet, specially when most isn't sticking. the ride home the next night on thanksgiving from centreville, va back to dc in 14 degree (after windchill) temps. was tougher. i had to stop at a coffee shop in georgetown to thaw my fingers. i just couldn't have lasted the last mile. i need to figure out a glove situation for super cold nights, other than that, the rest of me can go for a while in freezing temps.

i love winter more than summer, i can go snowboarding and i get the motorcycle parking in adams morgan all to myself. specially once the snow is on the ground. and all the ladies have cute sweaters and scarfs... mmmm.

i'm loving my michelin pilots. i've had dunlops, pirellis, and metzlers in the past. pirellis were terrrible in the rain, but i haven't gotten the new ones, they look like they'd be good. the dunlops were okay. but the pilots have been great. the metzlers i had were on a yamaha straight bike and were good in the rain. as far as snow/sleet..... don't drive in it, its slippery. i only drive in it when the road is too warm for it to freeze on contact or stay as snow on the road. i've driven in sleet, it is hard to go down hills. i can't believe i kept my bike up on that crap... its unnerving. i wouldn't recommend it. rain/thuderstorms/monsoons/big puddles, these don't scare me one bit. especially after my NC trip........... hehehehe.... but ice... now thats some scary stuff.

gas freezing? that sounds wierd, i go out in 15 degrees weather, haven't had that deal... are you sure its not something else? maybe a reagulator? it sounds like the problem i had. did you recently drive in heavy rain? well maybe it could happen if you parked outside, but how come it doesn't happen to cars then?
