I'm going back to Srinagar for the first time in 7 years. Last time I went there were still curfews and road blacks and everyone was on high alert. What I want to know is has it improved? Is is safer? Will I be able to go to Gulmarg and all the other tourist destinations, or will I be forced to go out during the day and back home before it gets dark? Any advice, or recommendations of places to see while I'm there (that are off the tourist trail) would be appreciated!!

I will write a holiday diary of the places I see and the things I do which I will share with you all. If you're really lucky, I might even put up a few photos of Mowj Kashmir!

Hope you can share your trip when you come back

I haven't gone back for 13 yrs... But am going back next summer... and I have been told that it isn't that bad anymore... You wont have to fall asleep to the sweet sounds of bomb blasts and the sky wont be full of lights... and you probably wont be held at gun point... but still good luck... hopefully it has changed... hope you have a good time... enjoy paradise.
