Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli
Just wondering if anyone else has been mesmerised by Miyazaki san and his wonderful Studio Ghibli. I have been fortunate enough to own quite a few ghibli titles on dvd including My Neighbour Totoro, Kiki's delivery service, Only Yesterday, Whispers of the Heart, Laputa:Castle in the Sky, Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind, Spirited Away.
I remember first watching My Neighbour Totoro, my first ghibli title incidently, and I instantly fell in love with the film. The characters, storyline, colours, landscapes, and just the general level of animation was breathtaking. I haven't looked back since and the last Miyazaki film I watched was Howl's Moving Castle which was also excellent.
I ma going to revisit the films again and watch the ones I havent manged to get down to watch yet and write some journals on them.
My good friend intel, has already written a journal on my neighbour totoro so please check it out. :)
Anyone else seen any Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli films? What did you think?

Yes I am fine... Eid Mubarak to you and all!
Yeah I didn't know you like anime as well. ;) I can't wait till that film comes out, I hope it is as good as the other Studio Ghibli offerings! Lucky FilmFour subscribers!!
Yes Waqas, the child was animated so realistically that I never had the heart to finish watching Grave of the Fireflies.. it made me cry too much!
The stories are always very different and interesting. One thing he captures so well is children, their innocence and sense of imagination.

I mean the totoro one. ;)
Be warned, they are totally different. HMC is more darker in nature where as Kiki is very much all innocent and magical.
Both excellent in their own way though. :)
Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
Intel has got Totoro and Kiki so Emma, feel free to lend the from her.
Hey Intel , don't worry, I will pass you the others on bit by bit.
Don't want to spoil you now by giving you loads at the same time. lol.
Emma, you can lend them from Intel too.
There you go. Sorted. :)
That reminds me. I've got to get Pocco Rosso and The Cat Returns. ;)
