Help needed :)
Salaams all,
A group of students at my law school's asylum clinic have recently launched a new program called the Refugee Reunification Project, which is designed to help political asylees in the US bring over their immediate family members (spouses and children) from their home countries. Basically, the aim of the RRProject is to create a fund for plane tickets to the US for asylees' families - as you know, ticket prices can be enormously expensive, especially for a family of 15 from South America or Africa. Plus, asylees and their families only have a short amount of time in which to obtain money for plane tickets before the visas granted to an asylee's family members expire.
The RRProject is the only organization of its kind in the States, and addresses an often-neglected aspect of the asylum process. We need help mobilizing activity for this project and creating awareness on the issue, so, if you'd like to either donate to the fund or help distribute information (can be as simple as an email) and get pledges from your friends/family/classmates/professor s, please send me a message and I'll get back to you with more info.
Jazaks!! :)
