Hey my wedding date is July 4rth 2003, that's funny. Anywayz, can't recall about the catering. when I originally set my date there, I don't remember being concerned about food ( I think they said yes). I was more concerned about per head cause of my dad. So I am not sure. I will let you know soon.

If you get your pics taken outside before the wedding, the come out nice, you can see the water falling over the castle. But that depends on when you sign the nikkah papers. If that is an irrelevant issue, thanI suggest, DEF. take pics before. By the time the wedding is over, you'll be too tired. Even if you end up taking it while the guest are there, you won't be able to have all nice poses. They will be more like standard poses.

"crazy muslims mating like rabbits" LOL, i have been promoting intercultural marriages for years! Think of all the money one can save. My family (all of it with far far far relatives included) will be no more then 40 people. :)
LM, I asked my friend and she hasn't done any research on LI, but looks like you got some help already. So, don't stress out, you'll find something. Congratulations!

Wow, congrats Lm...when did this happen, I had no idea you were engaged. Anyway, having been in NY for 25 years, yeah the food at Akbar is pretty good. But it's not the most elegant looking of all. I know they recently renevated it. It looked pretty nice (ten times better than what it used to), but yeah good for a mendhi. Huntington townhouse is gorgoeus. I have pics from my friends wedding there..they come out like magazine photos...unbelieveable. My dream place in NY, is called SAND CASTLE. It's on franklin avenue right across pathmark (right off of corona ave). You can't miss it. It's beautiful. Unfortunately papa did not want to pay that much per head. But that was just my choice, huntington still beats it. I just did not want to get married where people have been too many times. Good luck, Inshallah you will get exactly what you want. BTW the Cotillion - NEGATIVE!

I second Huntington Townhouse, it is beautiful.
I have only been to Akbar's in NJ, and it was nice, but small, probably better for a mehndi. Congrats and Good Luck to you!

Gosh... been to so many weddings... like they said always the bridesmaid and never the bride ... Well anyways - Check these places out : Leonards (great neck), Huntington Townhouse (Huntington), Jericho Terrace (Mineola), Worlds Fair Marina (near JFK airport), Akber (in Garden City), if you want to opt for something Cheaper - Cotillion and Best Western in Hempstead - arent bad either for the money. Parking is ample in all places.
