Hindus put bounty on MF Husain

LUCKNOW: A hardline Hindu group has offered an $11.5-million reward for the murder of MF Husain, India?s best-known artist, after he painted revered Hindu goddesses in the nude. The statement on Wednesday by the India Hindu Personal Law Board comes after a reward for the same amount was posted by an Indian Muslim politician for the beheading of any of the artists who drew controversial cartoons of the Holy Prophet (pbuh). Husain pulled his painting depicting ?Mother India? as a naked woman from an auction after protests by rightwing Hindu nationalists. ?Anyone who kills Husain for making obscene paintings of goddess Sarswati and Bharat Mata (Mother India), (and) the Danish cartoonist will be given 51 crore rupees ($11.5 million) in cash,? the board said in a statement. Board president Ashok Pandey said that the amount would be doubled if the task was carried out by Yaqoob Qureshi, the state minister who announced a similar reward for the heads of the cartoonists. No they are not in the NUDE. There are temples where some of the approx 55 crore hindu gods are depicted in the nude and jst not in the nude put in sexual positions too (Khajuraho). BUT, dats restricted to a few places and commonly they r NEVER SHOWN in the nude. M F Hussain has lost his marbles with all the money flowing in his coffers and loves to hog publicity.

Using sentiments to hurt, is wrong. I am sure the artist in question, will have learned a lesson or two. But out of curiousity I will ask?! the Hindus deities are nude to begin with, or am I mis-informed.

I really see your point in putting this news clip here. Its 3 dayz old to start with and most of the muslims feel its not wrong. M F Hussain has been kissing controversy for a very long time. He has been depicting various hindu goddesses in complete nude for some time now and has faced the wrath of the hard line hindu groups. When muslims can try and bring down the sky for a cartoon of the Prophet (SAW) and put bounties on the heads of the cartoonists, why shudnt the hindus object to obsenity with their deities by MF Hussain. I certainly dont deny his artistic prowess but he surely needs to mend his ways.
