Housing Advice

I am moving to Albany to attend law school, so I kind of needed advice. I am debating between living in the suburbs (I'll have a car) or living in downtown. I have no idea of the area and I will not be able to come down anytime soon. If any of you guys can help a brother out, I'll appreciate it. Thanks.
PS. Was also looking for a roommate if anyone has any clue where I can find one.
