how do u get into accounting from a different field


I just wanted to know if you have a degree in something else and want to get into accounting does that mean i would have to for masters or second degree.... or does it matter for different fields in accounting???

I think if you were fairly sure about accounting as a career you could go directly for the CPA exam (off course take a course if you feel the need) instead of doing a grad degree and any firm should accept you then. This is assuming that you have an okay financial/business base already.

It would be wise if you actually got a second degree in Accounting because there are alot of things that you would have to know before accepting a job in Accounting.

I would advise that once you complete a few of your financial accounting courses that you join a small cpa firm. You will learn alot working in a cpa firm for sure.
