How tall are your parents?


Salaams to all tall brown peoples..

I ask this question, cause my parents are about average height.. Dad, 5"6 Mom 5"5 and I'm a freakishly 6 "2...and, No, i'm not adopted...haha.

In general, i've noticed most desi's that are born here are taller than their parents..probably cause we've been brought up on steak and eggs instead of daal chaavel....anyone else tower over their parents?

true I also had a very normal father at 5'9" and mum5'4"...but we all turned out to very nice and tall...with me at 5'7"....

True, However, even with tall parents I have still noticed that the children end up outgrowing their parents in most cases. As said before, there are some exceptions. Besides genetics, there are other factors; eg Nutrition, Environment, physical activity through childhood, and adolescent years. With me and father it's not really a noticeable difference, about an inch or so.

Mom is 5 feet and dad is 5'9'' ...im definitely not adopted....i got my dads nose..damndamndamn

lol Vermani....your dad may be taller, but you are still darn tall! I think we are talking about differences from parents when the parents are short.....then it would be a problem if your parents are taller...... not if you yourself are already that tall. :P

On average it's true that most of us who grew up in North America are taller than their parents. There are a few exceptions. I am one of those rare exceptions. My father is a tad bit taller than me at 6'2".

My mum is 5'6" and my dad is about 5'10"... My brother is 6'1" and I am 5'7", my sister's are 5'2" and 5'3"... I don't know what that means! But generally my mother's side of the family the women are quite tall (and the men also) whereas on my father's side of the family the ladies are fairly average height below 5'4"...

Thanks peeps... That's very true Sam. I was in the Sikh quarter of town today, and they are indeed taller than most Desis. Then again, their glorious turbans must add at least three inches to their height ;)

Shergaweeya.....I would say that generally, I do find it to be true that pakistanis are taller than Indians and Bengalis BUT have you ever noticed that Punjabi people especially the Sikhs of India are SUPER tall!?! I know at least 3 sikh girls who are over 6 feet...and none that are shorter than 5'6''......and there guys are tall too of course. I think its because of the khuraq of the punjabi people.....it must be all that milk and meat they eat!

I am taller than my dad who is 5'10 and my mom who is also 5'10.. My brother is as tall as I am 6'3. However, My nana is 6'2 and my dada was 6'1 and my nani was almost 6'. I think our family alone has contributed a lot to the average Paki height statistics where av. guys height is 6' and for girls 5'7.

I"m pretty sure you must be someone else who is already in this village since YOU should not be able to read my comments if I can't read yours (we aren't connected). Unless of course you are a premium member which if thats the case how pathetic is that if you have SUCH a fake profile and are paying for it.......

I can not read lovemuffins comments but someone was kind enough to point out to me that HE wrote some not so nice things to me.

I normally don't comment to people who are unnecesarily rude but I"m going to take the liberty of comenting, once and only once. FIrst of all the fact that your profile is fake, means you have NO credibility whatsoever in what you have said. SEcondly...... I KNOW that I DO NOT always talk about RIshtas/marraige unless it is already being discussed or there is a valid reason to discuss it so you making that coment doesn't upset me, instead i find it rather amusing that someone for some reason is trying to upset me by being so rude. Well it won't work because there is not truth to what you have said. Even if there isn't a valid reason for me to bring up the topic, WHY on earth are you on a public forum if you are so close minded and can't participate in a civil conversation?!

Oh and instead of telling me to leave you alone....how about you stop following me?!?!?! HAHAHA
