Hurricane Victims

Hi, as you all know the disaster in New Orleans has left thousands of homeless. I received this today, so if any of you know of anybody at all who can assist, please pass this along.

As a side note, if any of you are interested in helping the victims out, more than monetary now, there is a great demand for blood, so please go and donate. Also clean, new toiletries. There are drop off sites all over the city.

Thanks

A plea from Bishop John Bryson Chane, Episcopal Bishop of Washington

According to the Red Cross, some 400 refugees from Hurricane Katrina
will be arriving in our area on Sunday or Monday to take up temporary
residence in the D. C. Armory. They will quickly need to be moved into
long-term housing arrangements for periods of two to three months. The
need is especially critical for families with young children.

If you or members of your communities have shelter to offer, please
contact Amy Slemmer of the Red Cross at [email protected]

Thank you,

The Rt. Rev. John Bryson Chane
