HYDROFEST @ ISNA CHICAGO 2005 - First Annual

This event is officially on.
Information as follows:
Asalamwalaykum my fellow Hydros lets make it happen.
We had our first HydroFest at ISNA Toronto. Now its time that we have our first HydroFest at ISNA Chicago.
I am willing to organize this but with the help of some folks in Chicago Insha'allah.
So here is what we have so far.
Friday evening would be the best day to hold this event. Reason being that Sunday is the boat cruise. Saturday is a fairly busy day and I hear that Friday is usually very quite. Hence holding the event on Friday will give folks something to do ... and in this way they will not be missing out any other events over the weekend .... in essense making the Whole weekend a very eventful one, by utilizing each day. Now what i need is for someone to source out a good venue for this event. Since it is our first HydroFest in Chitown .. i feel that a cafe would probably be best. Something like a 'Demetres' for those that are familiar with that joint - a desert cafe. Holding it at a restaurant may not be the best idea at this stage .... since you need reservations and maybe not everyone may want to eat ... just mostly socialize. Also since we are not sure with the exact turnout of this event will be ... reservations may be inaccurate and may go to waste and if the restaurant requires a minimum payment for the reservations and folks dont show up .. then it can be a very expensive night for some of us. So lets find a nice "Classy" up-scale cafe/dessert venue that will take reservations also.
I hear the Hyat is where its happening during ISNA ... so maybe a venue close by would be ideal. Also if we can hold the event just after Maghrib that would be perfect. This will give everyone enough time to get in ... check in .. and pray Maghrib ... then head out to HYDROFEST.
NOW THOSE THAT ARE WILLING TO ASSIST ME IN ORGANIZING THIS EVENT PLEASE PM ME ....I could really use some help Insha'allah ... so that we can effeciently coordinate this event. I am also going to contact Naj and see what his plans are and if he is available to help organize this.
Once the venue and details are finalized for this event they will be posted. At which point I would request each of you to spread the word. I will work on hopefully posting this event on various CAMP sites.... hence each city will be informed of the HydroFest event happening at ISNA Chicago.

Jazak'allah Khair for your co-operation in this matter.
So first of all .... i want you all to understand the concept of our FIRST HydroFest.
This is suppost to be an informal social gathering at a Cafe-type of a venue.
No banquet halls or restaurants..... because its our FIRST venture into this type of a gathering ... and knowing hydro's ... they are quick to say that they will be there ... but last minute may cop out, and at the end someone is left to pay for the reserved head counts that didn't end up showing up. ... hence the Informal Cafe-Type of venue.
Now keeping this in mind ... lets please look for venues that are "CAFE ORIENTED".
- HOKIE ... do you know of any such type of venues??? ... your help would be much appreciated.
- SHAHANA ... i am looking for a 'Demetres' type of a veunue. A desert/chai oreiented place.
Now dont tell me that in the busy area where we will be having most of the ISNA events. ..... there is no upscale-posh cafe????
- again .... LETS STOP TALKING AND START WALKING ... i need people in CHITOWN to source out a decent cafe PLEASE.
- Anyone with decent ideas and also willing to help out in this event .... PLEASE MESSAGE ME.
- FOR PETE's SAKE .... IT IS KIND OF TOUGH FOR ME TO PUT THIS TOGETHER FROM TORONTO CANADA. ... hence ... if nothing substantial comes up ..... we will all be going to Denny's.
So Instead of WHINING AND COMPLAINING ... lets be a little more pro-active and work as a team to make this event a success Insha'allah.

Please forgive me Insha'allah if i came across a little blunt .. but i am kind of frustrated here ... and its 3am in the morning ... and at the end ... i REALLY just want to see this Hydrofest being a successful event Insha'allah ... but believe me i need your help to make it happen Insha'allah.

We were lacking a venue for this event so upon extensive research with the help of Husnola and Naj, we have choosen to go with Denny's.
So DENNY's it is.
Same time/date as planned. .... Saturday evening @ 21:00 hrs.
