I got slapped in the face

The headline of the mailing was telling the residents to "wake up and smell the coffee"

this was on Friday. It was my wake up call as I got a big slap in the face. The face of politics ugly side came at me through the phones receiver as the former Mayor of my town was telling me about the mailing going around town to tarnish my reputation 3 days before the council selects a new mayor for the town. One of the 3 candidates for the mayoral seat is myself.

The mailing tells the residents that I am a violent person, anti american, and the icing and the cake is when they said that i made comments associating me with the terrorists.

Alhamdulillah, I have a relationship with my colleagues on the council and many of the residents know me on a personal basis.

General elections are this tuesday.

the selection of the mayor is on wednesday.

Please keep me in your prayers.

I will keep you updated.

OMG....There's a fair bit of mudslinging during elections but that's just slanderous. Find out who did it and sue them - it's almost funny to be honest because you're possibly one of the nicest least violent people I've ever met. I think it's truly despicable when people play the terrorist angle if someone happens to be Muslim or Arab. Well... i hope everything goes okay inshallah...you'll do fine.
