I agree with Bleeeeach, good and bad people can be in any religion. If we are Muslims it doesn?t mean that God loves us more or we are the most pious people on earth. Whatever I am writing I know you?ll become very angry and will think very bad about me but it doesn?t matter, as one cannot deny the facts. I have Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindu friends.
Today, what we see is not the true picture of Islam. Osama Bin Laden, Sadam Hussain, and other Muslim dictators have committed evil deeds, which are not taught by Islam, Islam never preached violence, although the whole world thinks that Islam is a violent religion, which believes in indiscriminate killing. Every sensible person knows what happened in Uganda in 1972 when Israelis freed over two hundred hostages of Air Frame Plane hijacked by the Palestinian terrorists.
1972 in Munich Germany, during world Olympics, 23 Israelis athletes were brutally murdered by the Palestinians terrorists. All sensible, educated Muslims condemned this action, except the terrorist countries.
Palestinians who were homeless for decades got their land back from Israel. Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Libya, and all other Muslim countries never welcomed Palestinians and did not gave them a piece of land where they could have lived peacefully. It was only Israel government, which provided them land where they formed a government. So who is following the true teachings of a fine religion?

"

that was a quote, not by me.

hey silky. how about you go over there for a bit?

all done.

alas, the same problem of having an online argument comes up.

who knows what the other person is actually thinking.

in any case, the discussion seems to have turned out in my favor, although the person who posted that zionist press release is forever tainted in my eyes,

how pathetic.

I always believed in changing minds/hearts one person at a time. many of the ignorant and misguided are a product of their environment. it never hurts to approach them in a nonthreatening manner and reason things out with them. even if u havent convinced them, ull get them to consider "another" side. gradually, they might "convert". there are countless american jews here NY and NJ who are fervent supporters of the Palistn cause and the right of return, who were enlightened by the power of rhetoric and reason.

After all, we ARE living in a land which is predominantly absentminded of these issues. it is our duty to approach those around us, articulate our good intentions and rid them of false assumptions and misconceptions etcc because we would be doing us and our children a BIG favor.

in summers 2002-4 in Union Square in New York, they used to hold open air debates a la Hyde Park Corner it was a great opportunity to denude some folks in there of their misguided mindsets..especially when ur surrounded by dozens of onlookers.

it is not only abominable but dangerous for us arabs to cut ourselves off mainstream society. we should reach out to people and "educate" them, rather than just live in our "communities" and ostracize ourselves from the ever changing environment. its our respnsblty.

sorry, platoshadow, but i won't waste my time on such hopeless cases like the guy who wrote the garbage above. there are way too many like him for me to go after each and everyone of them to 'open their minds' to the truths out there. i suggest only another way of 'openning' their 'minds': get an old hard shoe and keep hitting that head of his until u crack it open!
