At least the folks in the art department are mostly MAC geeks and know what they're doing. You're lucky that you're not PC support...I feel sorry for PC support in our company since they have to deal with technologically challenged English majors (I'm an English major, but not technologically challenged...I can manage).
Oh, and I took a plunge into the world of MACs last spring...bought myself a Powerbook. It's lovely.

Oh, but Da Vinci Code is sooo good! :P

I like a lot of different genre's.
Books like The Alchemist, Life of Pi, Tuesday with Morrie (not sure what genre that is), to Star Trek books, to The Historian, The Kite Runner, Michael Crichton, Harry Potter!, I like the classics too but haven't read too many of those actually.

I'm very tempted by any of the free books you may have...I can't let myself order anything though, not when I still have a bit of a backlog of books on my desk to get through.

I feel bad that i'm not into books like all of you guys.
I read when im bored or when i get a chance, mostly on the train cuz it takes me over an hour to get to work.
Unless someone swears to be that I have to read a certain book then fine i will....like my sister has been begging me to read "Da Vince code" but i told her i'll just want for the movie. Now i know you all are gonna tell me "OHHH YOU GOTTA READ IT, IT'S SO GOOD" yes i know she told me that too....lol....

HAHA you guys a all to funny.
PezD I have provided a link up on top...that's my companies
website. Please take a look and let me know what you like. And i can run around a grab a copy or 2.
But if you wanna give me a list then i have to order from the warehouse.....I don't have a problem charging it to my credit card at all...but at any given time i don't want to exceed $300 simply because i don't wanna get stuck with books that i don't really need.....lol....

Working for Penguin is truly like being a kid in a candy shop for me. I have amassed SO many books over the 4.5 years I've been with the company, it's ridiculously wonderful.

I wish I read this JE before Thanksgiving... I was there!!! Anyway, I will be coming into NY area late March.... what books do you publish? Does your company also publish children's books that are Newberries or Caldacotts, or Pura Bel Pre award books?

sooo many questions...

and another thing, how do I get a job with that company??? If I can get free books, I might actually be able to save money.... woah, concept....

yes of course that was the whole point of creating this topic.
The thing is you live really far away....but if you have a family member in NY i'll be more then happy to give them a few books for you, or if your ever in town just let me know.
One thing i do need to know is what kind of books do you like, just give me the genre.

I'm in the IT department. I specialize in Apple Macintosh computer. I deal with networking and companies day to day
IT needs. I mostly work with art directors, cuz they are the ones with the latest greatest Mac computers.
Yeah i get all the books for free as well.....but i don't get to read them all.....so now i have a stack of them in my office....and i thought i share them with everyone here. For free of course.
