IAGD is the place to BE :-) And other Detroit Events
I see my IAGD lovin peepz in this village, so ya all represent. For those that do not know, IAGD is the Islamic Association of Greater Detroit, a masjid located on Auburn Rd between Rochester Rd and Livernois. You can check out their website at iagd.net.
There is always something or another goin on there. I'll do what I can to update everyone and InshaAllah we'll get a stronger turn out from the age group that is hangin out in this village. The masjid board is always asking me where all my peers are, and I don't know exactly what to tell them. Perhaps its just cuz they don't know whats goin on. We could do some awesome stuff at the masjid, we would get rewarded in the hereafter InshaAllah, and it would be fun. I don't think you could ask for a better deal then that :-)
I asking everyone to come out June 4th for IAGD Summer Spruce Up (yea its a lame name, if anyone has an creative ideas on wat to call it PLEASE let me know). We'll be planting flowers, landscaping, out-doorsy stuff. If anyone wants to help me plan or be on the commitee for this event let me know.
Here is some stuff that is going on, not just IAGD stuff but other Detroit things I can think of.
Saturday May 7th- IAGD Montly Dinner, Dr. Muneer Fareed is the speaker. Many of us grew up with him, for those who haven't heard of him you totally want to check this out.
Saturday May 21- MYGD (the youth group at IAGD) Dinner
May 21- 22 Hira Retreat at UofM Dearborn University Center with Professor Jackson, Imam Zaid Shakir, and more!
Saturday June 4th- IAGD summer spruce up, Monthly dinner in the evening.
I'm sure there are tons of things i'm leaving out, so anyone feel free to update.
