i agree w/ mila, redhead and irfani

God answers our prayers, knows what we really want, but knows when to substitute what we think we need with what is better for us; and He does this in His own way, and at the right time, (not according to our time frame)

abshaw, not everything is preordained.. Allah says the timings of births and deaths are predestined; surely other things are down to us - God knows what they are, but we can influence them - otherwise we would just be pawns in a game

I am back from the vacation, so what did I miss?

We have to keep ask for Allah's mercy and forgiveness. The reply may be late, but it sure will come.

Read/Recite Darood Tanjeena. The most powerful dua you'll find. Helps in getting you a job, a spouse, solving problems, etc etc. Every person I know that was consistent in reciting this always had their dua come true. Just make sure your desire is something halal :D

Personally experienced that when I truly prayed from my heart, my prayers come true. They don't always come out exactly as I wished for, but the essence was there.

i might not agree with most of you guys in here, as i think of this whole worldly scenario as an experiment, that no one comes out a winner, the whole box is going to be destroyed and no one will remember anything what so ever.

He (GOD) might be the most knoledgeable and knows what is best for us. but that doesnt change the fact that its all pre-destined for each and everone of us.

I think if i keep on writing, i will end up redirecting the VE (village entry) in a different direction. sorry about that.

I think when you pray and its very genuine....god hears your heart....and hears your DUA....that i know for sure.
But you gotta give him time and trust his plan.

do you think that all duas eventually get answered if they are from the bottom of your heart?

subhan Allah. Everytime i wanted something really bad and He didn't give me... I found out sooner or later, it was best for me not to have it.

I asked Allah to take away my bad habits.

Allah said, No.

It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I asked Allah to make my handicapped child whole.

Allah said, No.

His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.

I asked Allah to grant me patience.

Allah said, No.

Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is learned.

I asked Allah to give me happiness.

Allah said, No.

I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you. If you want to be happy, be thankful.

I asked Allah to spare me pain.

Allah said, No.

Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.

I asked Allah to make my spirit grow.

Allah said, No.

You must grow on your own! , but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked Allah for all things that I might enjoy life.

Allah said, No.

I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things. If you want to be happy, be thankful.

I have a variation of the above in one of my JE's which goes as follows:

If God answers your prayers.......it is to increase or strengthen your faith.

If God prolongs in answering your prayers............it is to test your patience.

If God does not answer your prayers...........it is because there is something better in store for you.
