I'm all alone in here, i know it.

i'll be honest, i'm just here to waste time.
i have absolutely no ulterior motives.

in fact, i sometimes wonder if other people on this site are real representations, or just adopted persona's.
they can be just acting out roles for amusement.

people do it all the time on chat sites after all, this is hardly any different.

characters taht seem like charicatures, or single faceted in their conversational style and harp constantly on single issues tend to fall into my very large "probably not a real person" category.

so on this site, i wonder about
1- the seriousness of any debate.
2- the usefullness of debate
3- the logic of debate
4- wether the other person i happen to be debbating with is messing with me like i'm probably messing with them.
5- whether or not everyone on this village is actually the same person. other than me of course.

why would someone do such a thing you ask? why would Jimmy little from Arkensas pretend to be oth Thiqah1, Annon, Amao, and Silky at the same time, having pretend conversations with himself for the amusement of others?

i have no idea, but it is not beyond the realm of possibility.

in fact, that's my working hypothesis until i get some sort of proof to the contrary.

which is why. regardless of what you post silky, i don't acutally believe you are real.

and, in fact, that goes for everyone else too.

yeah it's wierd, but i have no way to test your existance against reality. therefore, your independant existance remains in question.

which brings me to my point.

is there really any way to know taht other people exist on this site, other than the very very few i've acutally met?

Reminds me of the Pakistani Poet, Iqbal:

Mujhe koe bhee nazar aati hai yeh booqalmooni
woe chand, yeh tara, woe pathar, yeh naqeen hai
deti hai meri chasme baseerat bhee yeh fatwa
woe khoe, yeh dariya, woe gardoon, yeh zamin hai
haq baat koe lekin mein chuppa kar naheen rakhta
toe hai, tujhe joe kuch nazar aata hai naheen hai

No doubt I can witness this heavenly zone
this moon, that star, this gem, that stone
My sight too confirms their obvious existence
these hills and rivers, that sky at a distance
But I hide not the truth, as my conscience calls:
Only you yourself are real, what you see, all is false

yeah, plato, i, too have wondered about the fruitlessness of debates. with some (no names will be said) their minds are made up. Some even have decided to no longer think critically - so debating with these types - on the internet or otherwise is very pointless.

do you enjoy it here? do you ever grow as a person? feel better? meet cool ppl? expand your mind? then stay around and you aren't alone.

if not, go get a book and turn your computer off for a while. :)

mate .. we find it hard enough to be ourselves half of th time so i find it hard to believe that a lot people have the energy to imprtsonate someone else ...
"we forfeit 4/5ths of ourselves to be like other people!"(anon)
