*Important* Pakistani Americans Against the breeding of Hatred!
Hey Everyone!
Hope you are all well. I am writing about a very important issue that we as Pakistani Americans should have covered quite a while ago.
You know what is being said and what is happening in media and in reality about Pakistan (after the London bombing disaster). Living in America we have our loyalties to this country that provides us with food, shelter and other necessities. However, we cannot forget our origins as Pakistanis and Muslims.
Please understand that if we remain quiet at this time, we will be perceived as being with the people who perpetrated these atrocities.
We need to come forward and MUST participate in an event/rally to show solidarity for peace and LET NO ONE use the name of our religion and the name of our Country of origin to spread hate and terror.
Therefore:
We MUST get together to let our fellow Americans and fellow humans know that TERRORISTS do not define us.
Plan of Action:
A PEACEFUL Rally is being organized for either of the following dates: Friday 8/5/05
Where: State Capitol Building in Hartford CT
Time: after Jummah prayers so that we can maximize attendance. (230 EST to 430 EST)
Please spread the word. It would be awesome if we can have more Young Muslim Professionals there because face it...we are the future of Pakistan and the future of Pakistani Americans.
Please keep in mind that anyone can help/support this cause. It is not only limited to Muslims or Pakistanis. If you know anyone who strongly shares our anti terror ideology then please encourage them to attend!
Lets make this fun as well...how about having that barbeque after this rally? Any other ideas?
For more info on how you can help please email me JaveriaC at yahoo.com
For all those who always wanted to go on strike or be in a rally, this is your chance!! ;) I always wanted to! lol...we can make banners..have chants haha. It will be fun!
****Please check out the EVENTS section of this village for more info********
Hope to hear from you all (H)
