ghazala the movie was sangam...beautiful movie and great songs...and i like tujko pukarae mera pyaar as well so you're not crazy :)
anyone remember this oold tune...i believe it was rafi and lata..."eik tera saath humko do jahan sae pyara hae"

ooooh Razmatazz that is from that really cool movie with Rajender Kumar, Vijintamali, and Raj Kapoor i still remember watching it as a kid...and that song was beautiful...did anyone mention Mere Mehboob...now those songs are FAntabulous!

Priya, oh yes I remember Chaudvin ka chand. Most of the Rafi/Kishore songs I know are from the 50s and early 60s, not from later. There's Mukesh as well, but he may have a fan-club village elsewhere :)

Mera raat aur din mahek ney lage hain...that's a great song. Actually every Rafi song is a great song. I was actully think of tum jo mil gaye ho, yeh jahan mil gaya hai...WoW.

Chahoonga is a delight. How about all of his songs from Laila Majnu.
Actually lots of music directors started using kishore in the 70's for the main songs, and give rafi 2nd/3rd songs of the album, yet he stayed near the top. Reason being was the 70's were basically ruled by Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh and md?s didn?t feel rafi suited them. But all in all, Rafi made HUGE comeback with kya hua tera vaada, parda hai parda, tu is tarah se meri zinda gi main, etc. and let everyone know that he was still the best. He was the BEST ever.

I have few of his live concert cd?s and he was very, very good and playful in live concerts.

I don?t think we can ever come up with ?The Best? song ever sung by rafi. We can?t just praise one song, there are 100?s of other songs up to that level sung by rafi (i.e. baharon phool barsao, kya hua tera vaada, yeh duniya yeh mahfil, etc.). Although I agree Chadvin ka Chand was an amazing song.
