One of many Donation Drop offs:
EIM Company, itsself, will be footing the bill to deliver the goods to shelters in Baton Rouge, as well as EIM Employees donating. If you can spare anything, especially the below items (see behind first cut), please consider making the trip to donate.
EIM Company (EIM Controls), Inc is accepting donations, tomorrow, Friday, September 1st, 2005 at their corporate offices in Missouri City/Stafford, Texas.
Please drop donations off before one (1:00pm) in the afternoon. These donations will be bound for Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Why Baton Rouge?: New Orleans does need some donations, but the majority of those are already on their way in. New Orleans is currently being evacuated, and all civilians will be evacuated as rapidly as possible. The vast majority of people are going to relief centers in Baton Rouge, LA.
Where do I drop things off?: You may drop off donations at EIM Company, INC., Receiving Department, 13840 Pike Rd, Missouri City, TX, 77489. Once again, donations need to arrive NO LATER THAN 1:00PM.
What is needed?: There are a myriad of things needed. First and for most, let me state that they do NOT need water. The Baton Rouge area has municipal/city water flowing just fine.
Needed items:
1) Bedding. People are sleeping on concrete floors and are indesperate need of blankets, sheets, comforters, pillows, pillow cases, sleeping bags, air mattresses, foam mattresses, foam pieces (big enough to sleep on), egg-crate mattresses, etc...
2) Personal items. Tooth brushes, tooth paste, soap, shampoo, razor blades, baby wipes, face towels, wash clothes, bath towels
3) Eating ware. Paper/plastic plates, plastic knives/spoons/forks, bowls, cups, etc...
4) Clothing. (Of any sort. Old, hand-me-down, new, anything).
5) Non-perishable food items (especially canned soups, and powdered milk).
Pretty much anything you can think of that you might need if you were camping for several months.
For more information or directions, please call EIM Company at 281-499-1561. Please remember, they are accepting donations TOMORROW (Friday Sept. 2nd), ONLY. Thank you.
