Yeah if you listen to their NON-hits they are amazing. Personally I enjoy the song "Amsterdam" and "Shiver." Very good tunes. Even though their sound is original, I don't think you could classify them as Indie. Although iTunes will. I don't really think Music should be argued. I went to an Atari Teenage Riot concert years back and I remember Alec Empire getting on stage and saying "Do you think because you know what a certain song or genre is that you are better than anyone else who hasn't been exposed to it?" That ruled.

Yeah, they are definitely not indie, but I don't think they are awful. I like them whatever they are.

Any band that your average 12 year old lusts over is not indie. Therefore... Coldplay is not indie.

I thought that indie had to do with being on an independent label, not sound. However, yes...they are "brill"! (That's some straight up British slang, huh.)

Technically, Coldplay are indie, I wouldn't really class their stuff as rock. Whatever genre they are, they are brill!

I am not getting you wrong, not at all. Coldplay can be as sonically perfect as your garden variety indie shit. They're impossible to hate.
