is it just me or are arabs EXTREMELY dramatic????


so i figured it would be interesting to see how many arabs out there think that their families, relatives, etc are overly dramatic in comparison to non-arab families . . . i have come to the conclusion arabs may in fact be the source from which soap operas were created!!! just a lil example, i'm in egypt and leaving to go back to cali tomorrow morning, and all my family wants me to stay, so they are all pleading with my dad, please let her stay just a while longer, and my dad says (to one of my aunts) "if you ask me one more time im gonna get up and stay in a hotel!!" so she replies, "ok, go stay in a hotel, just leave sarah here" . . . . and before you know it my dad is walking out the door!!!!! lol, DRAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so here i am sitting in egypt in the middle of a soap opera, wondering whether or not i get to stay, lol . . . so all ya'll arabs out there, gimme your stories so i dont feel like im the only one with a CRAZY ARAB family!!!! yalla ma3 salaama!!!!

IZZY, lol, aiwa, i think my family can empty the entire mediterrainian, and i have book loads of stories, i should write a screenplay, wallahi, lol . . . Z_x2, hehe, welcome to our world!!!

Wow! I didn't know this was an arab think! My husband is arab and he's so dramatic I call him a Diva!

man, brings back memeories, i swear, everytime we leave egypt, i think the nile water level starts to rise, cuz my whole family is crying lol, and not only does the water works start early,it's happend as soon as 3 days before i left lol, somehting you can make a dramatic movie out of

hahaha!! Phopella all that sounds very familiar.. shahata, wooden spoon.. @ss kickin travel kit!! but poor kids that is plain abuse!

hmmm....well my family is lebanese and i know that they would be all nice and respectful in front of the family but once we left....then the drama begins and the kid gets yelled at even though they had nothing to do with it....then out comes the shahata.....and my mom is beating the cr@p out of everyone....and then she pulls out the wooden spoon from her pocket, ya know out of the @ss kickin travel kit....you get the idea.

Sarah this is good material to start another Egyptian Soap Opera!! :-) ahh the wonder of arab families!! The same happens to me when i go visit my folks, i end up staying 1 or 2 extra weeks every time, I don't threaten to go sleep in a hotel though! :) I can't miss my mom's cooking.
