is it only me or everyone think?
Salam Everyone !!
I am a pure kashmiri from both mom and dad side... but i have never lived in kashmir as my ancestors moved downto pakistan.... but one thing i noticed about kashmiries............
They r nice and sweet but they think very HIGHLY of themselves... very proud of the gora rung and beauty ... and they prefer KASHMIRI munda or kashmiri larki for shaadi...

i mean come on.. itna bhi kya ho gaya.... :)

My family and close relatives are 100% Kashmiri and others 50%, etc who are settled in Pak. So there culture is that of Punjab. However, they are still 'proud' of their origin and talk loads about it as if they are still in Srinagar. :)
coming from a Kashmiri family I can tell you that its because, our parents think they are distinct from other cultures in Pakistan.
also that they are proud of those uniqe qualities that make the culture uniqe.

and funny part is when my mom looks for kashmiri families in parties........and once she finds one.. she would talk about inviting over just because they r also BUTT hahahah
if we come to think about it
every caste or sect likes to mingle around with the same community or in desi "same baradari" lol
One should be proud of what they are.. but still we shouldn't intimidate ppl who r not from our comm... thats what i tell my mom alllllllll the time... :P

I only think highly of myself, but not kashmiris.
I have heard aunties, mothers brag regarding their siblings, loved ones, etc "Oh he/she is marrying a Kashmiri" Puleez
It turns my sisters and myself off.
But the gora rung is an obsession with the sub-continent in general. Ever read the ad for Fair and Lovely?
