"ISNA Coming Up Soon"
I've never been to this kind of convention. If incase I do decide to go, what should I be looking forward to? Whos going by the way??
Pali - Talking to people is okay, but girls hanging out with bunch of "guy" in hotel rooms/lobbies/clubs .. how reasonable that is? If it is all girls only or guys only then i can buy it, other wise its a meat markete
Ok if you were stuck home all day and u get this once chance in year to go somewhere, wouldnt u wanna have some fun? If i would go to it, yes i would go listen to the lectures. But before and afterwards u can go talk to ppl, not in a weird way but i donno, just talk
Hr, But mainly it is being looked at as a 'meat markete' i know enough people who use the ISNA as an excuse to get out of their homes (specially girls) and then they party hard i.e. go to clubs and all that good stuff, which is sad but thats the reality. Again, i am not saying everyone who goes to these events is bad, but mainly most of the kids even people who are adults.
Paliangel What you are saying is true those things do happen. I went with my cousin and we heard Yousuf Islam and Humza Yousuf speak ...they are truly inspiring people. I attended speach on history of Islamic empires.
Certain issues on women rights. The Bazar was nice too.
There are kids who go there to get hooked up and party but if u don't want to do that there is so much more you can do like expand your knowlege in Islam.
Honestly, I heard that the only reason teenagers go there is to talk to the other teenagers. I heard the guys talk to the girls and girls talk to the guys and they hang out in hotel rooms and stuff.
Go to the Naseeb thing ...the comedian is really funny , I've seen him before. Otherwise just look at the scedule and pick and choose what interests u. Many things going at the same time.
