The Israeli government has recently announced plans to demolish 90 homes in Arab-East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan. If the Israeli government succeeds in destroying these homes it will be one of the largest land grabs since Israel illegally occupied Arab east Jerusalem in 1967. Please stop this blatant attempt to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from Jerusalem.
***
I remind you that UN Resolution 252 calls on Israel to rescind all measures that change the legal status of Jerusalem, including the expropriation of land and properties thereon and that Israel stop taking measures to unify Jerusalem as the ?Jewish capital?. The current plan to demolish homes in East Jerusalem proves that Israel is not serious about making peace with the Palestinians and that the Israelis do not expect to ever be held accountable for their actions by Washington.
****
It is distressing to me that not a single American politician has the courage to publicly condemn this plan which will thousands more refugees in the occupied territories when even Israeli-Jewish members of the Knesset are outraged by this plan, MK Roman Bronfman (of the Yahad party) wrote to Jerusalem City Engineer Uri Sheetrit, who signed the letter ordering the demolitions, urging him to cancel his decision., saying: "This is an ethnic cleansing and large-scale deportation that boggles the mind, such a plan can lead to a huge explosion, which the Jerusalem municipality, and you particularly, would be held accountable for."
****
The Palestinians have been fulfilling their obligations to reform and stop resistance attacks against the occupation forces. Israel is doing everything under its power to stop peace from advancing. What will you do to help give peace a chance?

Did you see them praying
And the Army marching in
As they clubbed old women
Did you see the general grin
Watch the stones fly
And the snipers taking aim
On Shatila's birthday
It's a calculated game
They're gunning down the children of Jerusalem
Did you hear the screaming
See the horror on his face
As he hid for cover
In a tiny, unprotected space
Did you hear his father pleading
"There is a child here"
Trying to protect his son
Who yelled in terror and in fear
That they're gunning down the children of Jerusalem
Did you feel the wind blow
From the helicopter blades
Did you smell the tear gas
See the demolition raids
Did you see the rockets
And the dum-dum bullets fly
Did you feel the horror
To watch one more young boy die
As they're gunning down the children of Jerusalem
Did you see the roadblocks
Letting nobody go past
Watch the blood flow
As time is running fast
See someone's brother
Taking his last breath
So close to the hospital
But closer still to death
And they're gunning down the children of Jerusalem
Did you hear the fatcats
Say "It's not what it appears
"It's an armed uprising
"A realization of our fears
"Do you hear them chanting
"That this is their homeland
"They want what's ours
"And we've got to make a stand
"So we're gunning down the children of Jerusalem"
Some want power
And it seems the world's theirs to give
Some just want peace
And a decent place to live
Some talk of destiny
And what their God has willed
And a mother weeps
That her nine-year-old's been killed
They're gunning down the children of Jerusalem

Keeper, if Palestinians don't stand up for themselves and for their rights to dignity and LIFE then who will. Talking about "trying hard"!!!
The Church vote to sell off the ?2.5M Caterpillars shares is positive and we should be happy that someone did something to stop the aid which is destroying the Palestinian life!!!

The Church of England's general synod - including the Archbishop of Canterbury - voted last night to disinvest church funds from companies profiting from Israel's illegal occupation of Palestinian territory.
The main target of the plan will be the US earth-moving equipment company Caterpillar which has supplied vehicles used by Israel to demolish Palestinian homes. When the worldwide Anglican communion called for such a move, at a meeting last summer, there followed protests from Israel and Jewish groups. The church currently invests about ?2.5m of its ?900m share portfolio in Caterpillar and had been engaged in negotiations with the company about its activities. Caterpillar insists it has not provided the earth movers directly to Israel but to the US military which sold them on.
So passionate was the debate that it squeezed out an equally contentious decision last Friday by the Church commissioners, managers of the church's investment and property portfolio, to sell off the century-old Octavia Hill housing estates for more than 1,000 poor tenants in south London to property developers.
On the first day of its meeting in London, the general synod, the church's parliament, heard denunciations of Israel's use of the machines from one of its own bishops and from the Anglican bishop of Jerusalem, who is Palestinian, whose letter was read out.
The Rt Rev John Gladwin, Bishop of Chelmsford, who is chairman of Christian Aid, told the meeting that the problem in the Middle East was the government of Israel rather than Caterpillar but that it was vital that the church should invest only in organisations which behaved ethically.
