Izzat
Is ka matlab kaun jaanta hai?
Mein is liye pooch rahi hoon kyoon ke aaj kal izzat ka matlab, mere khayal mein, bahut kam log jaante hain. Jahan dekho log ik doosre ki buraiyan kar rahe hain ya ik doore ko galiyan de rahe hain.
Insan ki kis tara se parvarish ki gayi hai, yeh to insan ka character hi batata hai. Is duniya mein (aur especially Naseeb pe) zayada log "izzat" ka matlab bilkul nahin jaante...bahut sharmindagi ki baat hai.

In response to your questions:
1. Apni na sahi, hamaari izzat ka to khyal kiya hota!
Apni na sahi, apna=my own, but since the narrator is the male he's referring to the female, apna would be for my own, na=negative/not, sahi=ok, in other words it means "even though its not her own "... "she should have taken into consideration our/my dignity
2. rutba=status
3. Shaan=glory, shaukat=power, dignity
4. Shohrat=good reputation, famousness, recognition, etc i think
Aish=luxury
Araam=relaxation,
so aish-o-aram = luxury and relaxation, in urdu synonyms are often placed with each other
These are some good urdu dictionary sites, sometimes even googling a word can get you the answer ;)

btw, I need some translations for the following words:
1. Sahi (from Mhdslm's comment , "Apni na sahi" )
2. rutba
3. Shaan-o-shaukat (I think I know that shaan means something along the lines of 'brilliance" but what does shaukat mean)
4. shohrat, aish o araam ( I think I know that araam is referring to peace/rest?!)

Jo laug izaat nehain karthai hain, isleeyai hai kain oonko khabhee izaat neahin milleee tho isleeyai izaat karna nehain seekhai.
Btw....izaat is so supposed to be earned, you can't demand it because if you do, you'll only get contempt
Kuch loagon ko aap kuch bhi keh kar dekh lain lekin vo doosron ki izzat phir bhi nahin kartay. Unhain shoro say hee kisi nay nahin yeh sikhaya hota hai! Lekin phir is tarha kay logon ki bhi koi izzat nahin karta hai.....
Sorry for sounding so pessimistic folks but sadly this is what I have witnessed and encountered in this choti si duniya, ke Allah mian ke banaye huey log aaj kal ke zamane mein kam hi ik doore ki izzat karte hain.
