I have absolutely no clue as to when Allama wrote this. I waited at the Khanqaah for my Ustaad but he didnt turn up. I wanted to discuss this shair with him. As far as my dad is concerned, he has is devoting most of his free time to reading Maaruful Quran and Rumi and some books on hinduism. He is a very different kind of person and I feel uncomfortable writing details abt him on the main board kyonki yahaan har fard apni alag soch aur zehniyat liye hue hai. A hint is..he is a professor for the last 50 years and has supervised over 30 Ph D researches in the field of mgmt.
kisi rozz sukoon se baith ke bataayenge Inshallah.
Allama is and was Indian. I really fail to understand how can Pakistanis lay claim to him. He died well before the concept of a separate state came into existence.

Apna khayaal rakhiye aur jaldi se tabiyat theek karen. Yahaan to itna kaam hai ki saans lene ki fursat naheen hai.

AS........jazz sahib ......Indeed now it makes sence. But also one needs to know at what age Allama wrote this.......As it seems, one would have live a full life, before reading it?! to get a full impact and to make out this difference. I am not feeling too well today...so will rely on you to keep it flowing...As re: your father please tell him to also study Allama with us, as Allama is more a part of the Indian History than Pakistani ...with best wishes....

I was having a discussion with my father the other day and he said dheere se...Farhan..Iqbal ko Urdu main padh kar tum itna asar andozz ho rahe ho, kyaa haal hoga gar Farsi main padho...aur Farsi main bhi Rumi ko padho, Iqbal jinhen apna ustaad maante thhe..dekho kaheen deewane na bann jaana.:) This is the kind of effect Iqbal has had over me.

Allama in these verses has again stressed on the true triumph of a Momin. He says, if one wants to achieve success in this world i.e. follow the path shown by Allah through the Quran and be oblivious(na ashnaa) to defeat or decline (Khizaan), one has to save himself frm the alluring world (Jahan e rang o bu) by disassociating with it by overpowering one's desires (qataa e arzoo). The basic of Islam is selflessness. Ones you submit yourself to the will of Allah, your entity and desires are dissolved into Allah's command. He further adds, that way to this success and achievement of life (kamal e zindagi) is hidden(muzmir) in your realizing YOURSELF ..which can only be possible if someone with the qualities of a mirror (aaina ru) can make you his part (zeenat e daaman). From my understanding, which is so open to faults, Allama's lines can have two distinct meanings here... one could be towards the Peer Murshid relationship here the other could be the Quran. We all are so unaware of what lies within us. We have failed to recognize our SELF, our faults our shortcomings. We all tend to live in a euphoric state of mind where we are never at fault. We need someone or something to help us SEE ourselves better and Quran can help us comprehend that but its only possible if Allah finds us worthy of it.
Phew !!

At times it gets difficult to explain these things in suchha short time and space. Thats why my Khanqaah scores over naseeb. hehehehe.
