kashmiri clothes


hi - i am kashmiri from my moms side and never really knew much about that half of me until i joined this village..since then, I have been doing research and am trying to learn more about the traditions of kashmiri people - particularly the dress...any google searches come up pretty vague..

do any of the women here have photos or links of traditional dress and maybe some insight into where I can get some?

my sis brought back a gorgeous kashmiri outfit from sri nagar - i still resent her for not bringing one back from me! it's similar to the one that you see the girl in the image wearing.

The ones I met when I was back there a couple of years ago had small plaits in their hair and had these realy cool hats on top of their scarves on their heads. They wore a lot of beaded jewellery and lots of silver/pewter jewellery too. They were facinating. It was funny as the two women sat across me at my aunts staring at me facinated as much as I was with them. They'd come to my aunt's to ask if they could do some work for us. They were so pleased when I asked them if i could take their photos I SO want to go back
