Khamosh Pani

Hey guys,

Have any of you seen Khamosh Pani? It's an Indian film with Pakistani and Indian actors, and it tells the story of a Sikh woman living in a Pakistani village post-Partition. It also accurately portrays Zia's propagation of Islamic fundamentalist ideas and their negative impact on minority relations in Pakistan. It was really good, you guys should check it out.

It was really good! A must see, addressing General Zia's Islamic Republic of Pakistan. What's lead up to the formation of today's islamic extremist political parties. Also a very cute setting. The present state of the region is sad so wouldn't it be appropriate to have a sad ending. Hope more Pakistani films like this sprout up.

Too bad! The TIFF isn't until September, so I have a lot of time to prepare.

No, I haven't. I'm in SF now and missed the entire festival that just took place here. Very annoying.

Have you been to the Toronto Film Festival? It's great, very intimate and informal.

Yeah, I usually get friends/family to download films for me. I don't even know where my copy was downloaded from, my cousin gave it to me. Sorry!
