Khud ko kar bulund is qader ke har taqdeer se pehle

Khud ko kar bulund is qader ke har taqdeer se pehle

Khuda bandae se poochae ,ke bool taere raza kia hai?

Secrets of the Self (Persian: Asrar-i-Khudi) is a book written by Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The term "Khudi" (from Persian) is based on the idea that a person should know exactly what his/her abilities and potentials in this life are and how these can be used for the good of all mankind.

One of the most famous lines of verse from Iqbal incorporates this idea thus:

"Raise your Self to such (moral) heightsThat before writing your destinyGod should ask YouWhat do you want your destiny to be?"

At another place Iqbal describes the importance of "Khudi" as

"Self is nothing but a boundless Ocean
There is no recourse if you think it is a little stream"

The shair actually goes like this...

..Khudi ko kar buland itnaa ki har taqdeer se pehle..
..Khuda bande se khud pooche..bataa teri razaa kya hai.

Its a sincere request that next time when you quote Allama or for that matter any other poet, kindly do not replace the original with your own words. Every single word in a couplet has its own significance and one here and the other there can change its entire meaning and essence.

Nice one,

there is one more

Ho Agar Khud-Nagar, Khud-Gar, Khud-Geer Khudi,
Momkin Hai Kay Tu Moat Say Bhi Na Marsakay

The word khudi as described is actually the essence of "Istagna" / Deattachment.

The Deattachment of the expectation from the fellow-beings of yours, he usually refer that stuff that self-reliance is the only way to survive and thrive, just like Hawk and Eagles, they depend on their own prey, they never ever rely on the other's stuff like Vulture. thats what I understand from teh word "Khudi" and Istagna / Deattachment.

W'salam,
