Kids Are Embarrassing

Having advocated having kids earlier today, now I will hit you with something more potent than the best birth control..

cringe-inducing quotes from kids (my precocious 6 year old here) - add any you have from your own youth, nieces, nephews etc... ok there are some cute ones too..

** Which day of the week is our holy day? me: Friday.
** What are we supposed to do on Friday? me: pray, go to mosque.
** Why don't we go to the mosque? me: cos it doesn't have a ladies' section.
** That sucks!!

* Mummy goes on naseeb.com to look for a husband! (would be a lottt less embarrassing if she had actually worked this out, instead of my sister telling her to say it AND if she had not announced this to my parents :( )

* another one i have decked my sister for telling my kid to repeat: Mum, how are you ever going to get married again if you don't find boys to make friends with ?

it's not sweet when it's your kid (not your mum) and she reminds you about this stuff weekly!

haha mystic, that's funny

the other (inevitable one) that cracks me up (especially because i witnessed it in the kids' section of a library) is - 5 year old in pin-drop-silent-library in a LOUD IRRITATING 5 year olds' voice: 'BUT MUMMY, where DO babies come from ?!?'

it's sweet that they are so concerned. :) kids are sooo adorable! pure innocence!

my cousin, when i was 17 and she was about 3, (while in my arms) poked my breast and asked what it was. So, I told her it was a breast. She looked up at me and said, "but Katie, why do you have breasts? you don;t have any kids... you're not even married!" lol. i had to explain to her that eventhough they are not CURRENTLY being used for milk, that they are a natural part of a girl - even at 17.
