Kingdom of Heaven

Hey all, just curious if anyone saw the recent movie, Kingdom of Heaven? I was wondering what your thoughts were on its portrayal of Muslim Arabs?

I saw this movie and I thought it was pretty good. Parts of it dragged on a little, but overall I was impressed. I did also notice many inaccuracies, including the prayer, the recitation of surat al fatiha, and the fact that Salah el din returned the salam of the non-Muslims. I was told that it is known in history that he followed the sunnah which says that you only return the salam of those who follow Allah's guidance.

Yeah, I agree!! I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was really well done. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it. I think it is interesting how there has been hardly any publicity about the movie (at least in my neck of the woods). Usually films like this that take $150 million to make are highly publicized. I feel like it is purposely being downplayed which is a shame. Go see it if you haven't! :)

I saw it last week and I loved it! For once, I could walk out of a theater and not be looked at like a damn terrorist by everyone else walking out! And the fact it was historically accurate was a good call. You know how Hollywood is! I was gonna have a cow if they did all that and let Salahidin lose in the end. I went with my friends and had no idea what the eff the movie was even about. By chance, I was wearing one of my Palestine shirts and my Palestine necklace so I had a lot of people come up to me after the movie. One guy told me what the Muslim fanatics of today are doing is the exact same thing the Christian fanatics of that time were doing. I think it did a great job and opened up a lot of minds.
