Kitty Clone

Ro7 (soul) can only be given by Allah not humans.

Has anyone here heard of the woman that wanted to clone her cat...and did so...ended she purchased the cloned cat for $50,000 dollars. Just wondering...how could this cat even be given a soul?...if im not mistaken a soul can only be given if Allah breathes 'Rouh'(soul) into any living thing...and i wonder how long until the cloned cat starts to develop symptoms of 'birth defects'.

How could this be possible...it has a heart beat...it meows...it eats and drinks just as a NORMAL cat/kitty would. Something just doesn?t make any sense to me...have scientist...gone so far as to 'play' the role of The Almighty...to me it seems as if they are MOCKING our creator...by all this cloning business that arose so recently...

What the hell is gotten into people...am I the only one that feels this way...Wallah this is a sign that the end of time is surely near.... But about this cat...any opinions out there!!!???

yea see thats my question... "at what point in the assembly process did you insert a soul?" the soul cant be made.

I've had this debate. The question posed was: If you could somehow assemble an entity, molecule by molecule, identical to my chemical composition.....when you finished the last carbon bond, would the dude wake up and start walking around. i was extremely surprised when everyone in the room said yes. i'm with you though. seems to me you would have an exact physical replica, but missing a soul. at what point in the assembly process did you insert a soul? ppl in this country have little spirituality....i will admit though that its tricky. you could make the argument that some systems are 'live.' for example given the right electric stimulus etc, i think the heart would pump. and the entity would have my memories in its brain since they are physically stored. interesting debate on where to draw the line.

Carramela.. I think you're confusing the cloning process...with the conception... when you clone an animal, you mess about with it's dna, when you go about artificially creating the lamb/ cat/ whatever in the lab/ test tube this is a separate stage (don't know whether this is after you've altered the dna, or whether dna is altered in the embryo).. but once you have an embryo/ foetus it would have a soul.. the same way a test tube baby does.. scientists enable one part of the process but the life appears at conception

its impossible for the soul to be given ... Allah is the only one who is able to give life...ofcourse all this is done by the will of Allah (cloning)...still souls r only given by Allah. it seems odd that Allah would allow this to happen....cloning like i said i understand the process they use a sample dna and yada yada yada.... and but the SOUL is not something that can come with cloning...no one here is understanding what im tryin to say :S

The process of cloning is not like the process of manufacturing goods in a factory. In cloning you do not take a set of pre fabricated head, arms, legs, and body, assemble them together and then attach a soul to the physical body. Cloned beings still go through the same process of insemination, pregnancy, and birth. So, the cloned birth is the same as regular birth. Just that the cloning process tinkers with the genes to make the new baby identical to its source (mom). The soul is still created in the same way as the soul created in a regular baby. And yes except for being identical, it's a seperate person for all practical purposes. Please see my twins example below.

.the soul is not the same in the 'new cloned baby', all souls have a clean slate at the beginning of life, through our experiences we add more to the slate...the soul changes through the life events, becoming bitter or nice depending on the individuals experiences...

thanks guys...im thinkin no is understanding my question...ummm in order to be living you must have a soul...with out a soul we would be life-less like a dead person...a dead body....the soul is no longer with the body...it is somewhere being judge in the afterlife....so yes they create a clone from dna....okay good we got that down...now comes the second part....no science can create a soul...impossible...a soul is something that can not be made...only given by Allah subhana wa ta3ala...right??? he breathes ro7 (soul) into each living thing that he makes....this kitty...has been duplicated by scientist thru the dna of the original cat...but the soul cannot be cloned...how can this cat have a soul...does anyone get my drift....maybe im not makin sense...but i hope im clear here.

It's the body and soul that make a living being. In cloning the physical attributes may be identical but intangible part (soul, experiences, thoughts) aren't identical. There is no transfer or sharing of soul. You can think of clones to be two identical yet completely seperate beings. They look the same and may even have same dna structure but they are still two sperate beings. Identical twins are born at the same time and look the same but they still are two seperate people. Think of clones to be identical twins who were born in two differnt time periods.

It's like a twin.. different soul.. they don't share the same soul.. and God does give it a soul in the same way as He would to a child born using eg. in-vitro fertilisation.. I fear for clones though, as dolly the sheep (the first clone in the UK) had defects..and came to a sticky end..

.the cat will be identically the same in terms of dna, but the cloned cat will not have any memories of the bonding that occured between her "cat mother" and the "human woman"

thanks guys...ummm but still how can ro7 (soul) be giving to a clone...even though it is from a blood sample from the previous cat...Ro7 is only giving by Allah not humans.

Very controversial topic. It just depends on your camp. I don't think anything "we" can do would ever be close to what Allah has/can/will do. We are just playing in his world with what limited means we have. The end of time will happen just like the beginning of time happened. Everything that will happen thru judgement day is already been written, we just don't know the outcome because we have not gotten that far yet. Learn to live your life in the present, be mindful of the future, and try to be a good muslim in the end. Or at least go to hajj soon before your time to pass away so u have as much a clean slate as possible ;) hehehe.

well i am not sure but as i understand is that the soul or birth can't be immitated by the scientist they have to use the process of natural birth. but they just manipulate the DNA strucure to change the looks of the cat. also for human cloning the debate has been that two human can never be equal for example if you clone let say brucelee but still it will be impossible to recreate the exact envirnoment in whic he grew up his experiences which ultimatley shapes him as a human so still they have a long way t go
