I think Houston and Sacto have dug themselves into a deep hole ... but Utah, Sac, Houston are the biggest threat .... Lakers will survive though .... they got a couple of tough games coming up agains Pistons and Spurs ..... I think the final spot will be the lakers though ....... the lakers have beaten Mavs twice this season on Kobe's back but in the playoffs it might not work ... but there is always a chance since Mavs haven't really been a good playoff team ... we will seee ........ No. 8 will show us the way

true say on Dirk...but bro - you gotta be kidding if you think the lakers stand a chance against the mavs. the way i see it; the lakers aren't even gonna make the playoffs - both houston and sac. are playin much better ball than the lakers as of late; when it really matters.

I'm surprised nobody's brought up Nowitzki in this conversation. Dirk has moved to another level after winning the three point contest....Craaaazzzyyyy!!! Clipper's offseason should be interesting ... cassell might be lured by money somewhere else and the coach might not make it back...... i think clippers will one of the big teams in playoffs and get out early. Lakers in 8th spot against the Mavs ... i like the odds there for the lakers to end the Mavs good run. Things are definitely heating up for playoffs !!!

yeah baller 'cansell' is tight. dude - magette hasn't played since eid (the first one). Brand's numbers are insane - he has to get top 5 consideration. the suns are marion and nash; nobody here can tell me they knew diaw, barbosa, house and co. were gonna tear shyt up. nash is the reason they do that. kobe is mad skilled; but he can't bring greatness into players like parker, mihm, odom (although odom does lead the lakers in apg and rpg so he's not exactly a total bust). so with that said - kobe can't be #2. agent - im still recovering from my ff loss; can't wait til next yr for my revenge; but i have to agree with you about CP3 - he's the best PG i've seen since JKidd came into the league...(payton was ill too in the 90's)

But that still leaves the LA Sparks to surpass as well!! I am impressed that the Lakers are in playoff contention this late, even though that position is slipping away.

I think Nash is MVP, but I think Kobe comes a close 2nd. I would even say Chris Paul is in the top 5 of MVP consideration (though he wont get it). His play has launched a team thought to be fighting for the worse record into a playoff team with a decent seeding.

Brand's play coincides with the impact Cassel has had on the Clippers. Billups is playing more as a complete PG, but success in Detroit is the MVT most valuable team, not any induvidual player.

Without Kobe, Lakers would average 50-60 pts a night and may be the worse team ever. Plus scoring 81 POINTS in a game ALONE justifiess his MVP candidacy.

Kobe might not be the MVP coz lakers aren't doing so well as a team. If Lakers were in 4th spot or somewhere around there Kobe would be the MVP for sure. Nash has a good help in Marion and Billups is surrounded by all-stars. Lamar needs to step up or get out. Lakers will be the no. 1 team in LA soon, clippers are just a one season fluke. Next year look out for them in the 10th spot.

Kobe is NOT the MVP. in fact; he's not even the MVP in L.A. that'd be brand. he shoots a horrid 44% or something. if you compare that to other 2 guards (and even some PG's - guys like Wade, Lebron, Rip, PP, Nash, Parker----i could go on), its terrible. the MVP is def. Nash; with billups and brand following suit. (that's just my opinion).
