Last Chance
Last Chance
Sailing o'er the worlds of the highest realm,
He had wandered to a place no one had been,
A place of darkness, of the yet unseen.
And from this an abyss came a beam,
And to it he went though it all seemed a dream,
He walked, he crawled, to reach he was keen.
But stumbled and fell as he tried to wean,
For it was too late to struggle to redeem.
And as he pushed himself in his hearse,
He asked, What of the life I reigned a kingdom?
What did I gain or gather, rehearse!
Echoed an answer, an advice from Wisdom,
A plague of sorrows with no one to nurse,
Or from what you have seen, eternal freedom.
