So horrible..... walking into our work canteen this morning (which I normally don't do) and seeingt the newspapers on sale.. and the Guardian headline contrasting Shahara Islam, the young woman killed in the bus attack with the 18 year old asian boy suspect: 'She was 20 years old, from Plaistow, east London. He was 18, from Holbeck, Leeds. Both were from close-knit families - one Bengali, the other Pakistani. Both were Muslims. Hasib Hussain became a suicide bomber. Shahara Islam became his victim'

i kinda feel for the family of the so called 'sucide bombers'.....

I'm with HUMBLEEE still....how do we know its not just ONE BIG conspiracy :P

I still to this day....don't believe that Bin Laden along with Al-Queda pulled off 9/11.....na....it don't stack up....

there is also a worrying trend though.. i read on the bbc site today that when spanish police surrounded suspects in the madrid bombings they shouted god is great before blowing themselves up (the mastermind has still not been caught)

and the bbc also says 'there is.. plenty of evidence already of how the process of radicalisation works - the most telling from Tel Aviv in April 2003.

It was then that two British young men, Asif Hanif and Omar Sharif, carried out a Hamas-organised suicide bombing, killing three.'

you have a point.. post ira bombings the nearest irish people were sometimes hauled in and sometimes wrongly imprisoned.. but the police has seen so many miscarriages of justice of this kind that hopefully it will not want another similar blunder

these men are just suspects at this point.. i think the information we know is largely from journalists..

the police are probably waiting for dna confirmation before they tell us what they really know

cheer up humble, if you go to the bbc feedback site --- news.bbc.co.uk --- you can see a lot of english people sympathise with muslims and state that all muslims are obviously not bad - and we shouldn't let 4 people colour our view on a whole religion/ ethnicity

humble.. i thought the same thing.. before i read today's details..

not only were the 4 men killed in the explosions.. they were all carrying several types of id - based on these, and the searches police have carried out on property/ cars, tons of explosives have been found.. 3 of the men travelled down from yorkshire together..

the 4th met them in luton.. they all carried rucksacks and are seen laughing on cctv at king's x.. where the 4 trains they went on/ were supposed to be on originated.. al of them had been to pakistan recently.. some of them for 'religious training'... seems a bit coincidental..

you can see why the police followed the leads.. and then there is the explosives which seem to be proof.. which were army style .. not home made

Sorry Humble... that probably came off sharper than I meant it. I just get annoyed at all the evasiveness of muslims I've met who stubbornly (perhaps desperately) seek to try to find some possible, remote and throughly unlikely way to remove 'muslim' nutters from the equation. If only we could blame western conspiracies for everything we could live sooo much more comfortably with our faith!

Sure we can question it. As soon as you think you have more evidence than the police, we should make that case.

Yup, zz. Also the explosions were somewhat smaller. And there weren't as many people around. And it was organised by a bunch of kids in Leeds. Not really comparable.

sahadat,
london casualties were fewer than 9/11 'cuz the attacks werent on 80-floor twin skyscrapers (the total area vacated by which was equal to a city the size of Cincinnatti)

London's as safe as most places... safer even. Remember, 50 people died in a city of 8 million! Looking at the odds, you're safe as houses, mate! (Ok, that came out a bit heartless but you know what I mean!)
