long distance/internet relationships

long distance relationships will survive 99% of the time on cyber/phone.....this isnt reality...a real relationship would require actual meetings to see if that cyber /phone connection can exist in a normal sense.....i think they are an unneccesary hassle...its like speaking to someone over the net for ages and ages and then actually meeting them ...all yr hopes could be dashed......its better to meet quicker and then chat on phone etc. im not a fan at all. im a realist.

long distance relationships are do-able, but hard. esp if one is in CA and the other in NY! The time change makes things much harder - but if both are patient, understanding and committed to making it work, i think it can. :)

the internet is like meeting people off the street or at a friends party or on the telephone...u just have to be careful/cautious and protect urself...yes a lot of weirdos can be found just as any other place in the world...a friend could introduce to someone and he/she can turn out to be a complete weirdo...

ba, the internet is like meeting someone off the street.. lots of choice but you never know who you're meeting, you just have to be very vigilant as oppposed to naive.

I agree, internet is a way to meet people, but, it has all kinds of dangers. One just has to be very careful that's all.

I understand the cautions im just challenging the thoughts here...its just that internet has become a very popular place to meet people and i have seen many successful hook ups through..i just wanted to get a sense of wat everyone else though

-- as long as this doesn't go on for 6 weeks + by which time one of you may be more attached needlessly to someone's online persona

as far as ghost goes...u can be with someone who you have known in person for years and still not know exactly who what they are...

long distance relationships are hard. The couple would have to work really hard to keep things going. internet relationships are dangerous because you can't really get to know the person and check their character and personality.

From my experience, bottom line is meet the person face to face to establish great rapport then follow up with the internet and phone...NO LONG CONVERSATIONS ON THE PHONE! It is best to find out about each other face to face such that its never an awkward moment if everything is disclosed via internet or phone. Simple as that
