Looking for an apartment...


Hey all,

So it looks like I may be moving to NY really soon... as in, in a few weeks. I can crash with a friend in Brooklyn till I find a place if necessary, but I live in a fantasy world and am hoping I can get a place secured before I get there. If anyone knows of ANYONE (female) looking for a roommate in Manhattan in the near future, please let me know - ideal situation would be finishing off someone's lease for a few months so I can get comfortable with the city and then move on to something more permanent, but I'm open to different situations. Drop me a message if you know of anyone/anything or have any advice!

thanks guys.. i've been perusing craigslist but i'm kind of scared of getting a psycho. i mean, i'm replying to adds and will go look at a few places this weekend, but it'd be nice to find a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend of something, if possible.

and i def do want manhattan, i know it's a waste of money and silly but i just really need to be there.

what areas do people recommend? i know there's moderately affordable highrises in the upper east, by that big mosque. anyone know anything about that area? any other recommendations for (relatively) affordable digs in manhattan?

i was looking for something on the UWS and nothing less than $2000 a month..jeez..
