Loss of appetite Dilema

I have lost the appetite to eat. I just dont get hungry. I have hardly any fat but I want to bulk up, but its like I have breakfast, and then i dont even feel like eating until a good 6 hours later.

I went down the local pharmacy to get something to boost my appetite and they gave me "metatone tonic" ("for use after illness such as colds and flu, and when you are feeling tired and run down"... umm.. and the doctor prescribed me "Multibionta Probiotic multivitamin"

I dont think they will be much use.

I want to increase my food/carb/protein intake by atleast 200%.

Some people have recommended taking vitamin B12 (which im going to get later today)... but I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on what i should do.

I have invested in a timewatch and set it to go off every 2 hours to remind me to eat, but even then I dont have the hunger.

My workout routine includes heavy cardio and weights, on seperate days.. but.. it takes me like 3 days to recover from a heavy chest workout because my food intake is so low. If i take, say more than 100g of protein via shakes or food, i seem to get diorreah.

I wonder whats going on.

Just do the best you can. I used to eat like only 2-3 meals a day, but once I adopted 6 meals a day my body adjusted and my appetite exploded. I think it make take some time for your body to get comfortable with the new diet, but soon enough your stomach will be expecting another meal within 3 hours. If you can't finish the entire meal, then do the best you can by eating as much of it as possible. Soon, it shouldn't be a problem. I feel like my appetite gets larger every week - it's out of control.

Here is my list of things that have been shown to increase your appetite:

Vitamin B12
Alfalfa
Blessed Thistle
Devil's Claw
Ginger (no pun intended)
Gentain (Gentiana lutea)

I suggest searching on Google for more details about each one.

I dont like take tablets. The intramusclar injections are meant to be absorbed faster and have better long term effects. I take them myself.

Thanks for your suggestions guy. My PT reccomended B12. I am taking B12 in injectable form. It has boost my appetite by so much I kill for food now.

If anyone does have an appetite problem, remember to try Vitamin B12.

Start by taking meal replacement shakes to supplement your food intake. It doesn't take much of an appetite to chug down a shake. As your body grows accustomed to taking in such a large amount of nutrients it'll get spoiled and demand it consistently. Then, voila! You're appetite will go through the roof. Then comes the hard part: Not getting fat!

Go out and buy you either of these products (not in order):

1) Ultramet - cheap and tasty with good ingredients.

2) Lean Mass Matrix - Like drinking cream of wheat, but excellent ingredients. A bit pricey but can be had online for less.

3) Myoplex DELUXE - Regular Myoplex sucks. Be sure its deluxe. WAYYYY overpriced! If you can afford it...go for it.
