Sorry for the last minute notice but for those of you in the NY/NJ area, theres an event at Columbia University tonight at 8pm. The speaker is a prominent Sheikh named Abdallah Adhami. Im sure you've heard of him since he speaks at so many college MSAs. Anyway here are the details, inshl some of you can make it!

In an increasingly complex world where high level issues seem to take precedent over the simpler things in life, the Muslim Students' Association of Columbia University and the Islamic Center at NYU have teamed up to present a two part lecture series devoted to the concepts of Love and Hate, in Islam.
This first part seeks to explore the idea of love in Islam; what is it, how do we understand and most importantly, how do we express it responsibly? This presentation will, in sha' Allah, present a more nuanced approach to understanding the subtler meaning of one of life's most endearing emotions.
Please join us as we try to elevate ourselves with the light of wisdom from our scholars.
