Love Poem XV

I like for you to be still: it is as though you were absent,
and you hear me from far away and my voice does not touch you.
It seems as though your eyes had flown away
and it seems that a kiss had sealed your mouth.

As all things are filled with my soul
you emerge from the things, filled with my soul.
You are like my soul, a butterfly of dream,
and you are like the word Melancholy.

I like for you to be still, and you seem far away.
It sounds as though you were lamenting, a butterfly cooing like a dove.
And you hear me from far away, and my voice does not reach you:
Let me come to be still in your silence.

And let me talk to you with your silence
that is bright as a lamp, simple as a ring.
You are like the night, with its stillness and constellations.
Your silence is that of a star, as remote and candid.

I like for you to be still: it is as though you were absent,
distant and full of sorrow as though you had died.
One word then, one smile, is enough.
And I am happy, happy that it's not true.

This oldpoetry.com is a good place to read the Ilahi Nama (Word/Story of Allah) yet still I haven't found one good www.angelfire.com which the heart will rest with, and the desire to share be quenched like the thirst to seek more.

Salaam O Seeker. I looked here and found this www.poetry-chaikhana.com and I looked elsewhere and this www.pangeaworldtheater.org turned up. Every search depends upon focusing the heart. Keep singing with all your soul Coo Coo, like the dove. A www.pangeaworldtheater.org like this will take away the pleasure of reading the story in its straightforward translated form, yet I will ask that you continue looking. Get a book from a library since every www.poetry-chaikhana.com I find is worthy of being listed alone.

Superman...I have not read any Attar...but if he/she is similar to Rumi and Neruda....I would be very intrested....what sources do you recommend?

This, Sab: "One becomes drunk on Neruda's words." Coming from a drinker who drinks from Rumi's chalice as well.. not to mention Attar's.. (and a few others.)

Tempted to start a never-ending sentence. Don't generalize about generalizing about generalizations. Recommended caution without generalizing about generalizations.

Beautiful!.
I was impressed to find out that nearly almost all the love poetry he wrote was for his wife. Quite amazing!.
