Dating is haram whether you are inside or outside of Libya. Alhamdillah, I've noticed that people outside of Libya are more attached to Islam and would not allow any of this 'relationship' fiasco to happen! :D. But yes Arnoba I know what you mean. When I went to Libya I was amazed at how normal it was for girls to talk about their so called 'boyfriends'. People have become lifeless, its very sad. Instead of feeling ashamed or keeping something sacred/or a secret in your heart now the 'mawtha' or the trend is to show off with how bad you are etc. Oh well....Allah Yihdeena ajma3een inshallah!

i do have friends too and yeah i agree with about woman in libyan and how they give and ask for men's numbers ...it's becoming crazy ...but when it comes to the drama i guess in libya they live in a dream and libyan ppl especially men r very stange i can hardly find a man who treats his woman like she becomes before anyone else " not talking about parents" ...but it's like they can only talk about love like it's something to talk about ...give me a break !!!!!!....for most of them love is to have a girlfriend or something this and to hang out ..gifts ..say nice words...just take a min and this of ur feelings by ur brain then u'll know what i'm talking about !!!!!!...i know there r great guys ..but i can't understand why these great guys " most of the times " did live thier teenage outside libya so the don't think the same way ...but well as my friend " who studys psychology " says " MEN R THE SAME " ...!!!!! );

Honestly, I do have friends who happen to be woman and we do hang out, but I don't do the whole love relationship whether public or private. In my experience and this is because most of my Libyan friends date around, Libyan relationships (libyan men dating libyan woman) outside Libya tend to be more stressful and more likely to be drama filled as everyone hides the relationship from their parents. I noticed in Libya that relationships are becoming more public (with the university being a prime meeting place) and in a lot of cases, woman are more forward (Libyan men in Libya are even more forward) compared to Libyans here in the US. Outside of Libya, I've never had an arab girl ask me for my number, but in Libya its happened. I have nothing against people having relationships, but my personal preference is to keep my libyan relationships stictly as friends and never cross the boundary into dating...
