That article link didn't work. The detox: Fast Track, one-day detox diet. It's a book, but you can find an informative artivle in the Experience Life Fitness Mag. Google search

Also, I just want to clarify that when I said making you fat I didn't say that you are fat. You're not fat! I was just making a general statement. Again, good luck and I hope everything goes well for you girl.

First of all if you work out going on a low carb diet is the stupidest thing you can do.

As an athlete, you need 65% of your diet to be from carbs, 15% protein, and 20% from fat.

The only reason why you lose weight on a low carb diet is because Carbs carry more water than protein. YOU will lose water. Also, too much protein in your diet can lead to high toxicity in your body, when proteins break down they produce ketone, too many ketone make you smell funny. Your skin will look like BAD and you'll have bad breath. Also all the hormones and antibiotics they inject into meat are going into your body also making you fat (Toxins are stored in fat). You are also putting strain on your liver since your forcing your body chemistry to change. In the long run, that screws up your metabolism...do you really want to be old and fat? OR do you want to be fit for as long as you possibly can?

You want to lower your body fat or lose weight? Cut processed and refined SUGAR out of your diet and ANY processed carbs. This includes White Bread and white rice! If you want to take it further, cut Gluten out of your diet, the gelatinous substance from grains. Might I also suggest looking more at the Glycemic Index of food. If you eat carbs, you want them to last so complex carbs or slow burning carbs are excellent (You should be eating 25-25 g of fiber per day). For example Oatmeal with raisins and sweetened with stevia and/or honey is excellent.

Cut Sat fat. You NEED good fats to raise your good cholesterol and keep your joint lubricated. Almonds, Flax seeds, and Olive oil are good choices. Low fat diets are dumb too.

Drink half your body weight in oz of water. The more water you drink, the less water your body will retain.

I felt like an idiot 2 years ago when I decided to go low carb. I ended up overtraining and if I didn't stop could have caused some serious muscle damage. DUMB! And I sure did gained back any of the weight I lost.

IF you want to make sure your are eating a balanced diet, I suggest logging everything you eat fitday.com. If gives you a pie chart with carb/protein/fat ratios.

If you are having trouble losing weight/body fat might I suggest detoxing: www.lifetimefitness.com intArticleId=370

By the way, all those sugar alcohols they put in low carb products make you fat. They cause spikes in your insulin levels that in turn messed up your metabolism and makes you store ANY energy that you don't use into fat. PLUS, in laboratory studies, they cause brain tumors in rats, mice, and cynomonkeys. All that stuff in our food and no wonder the rate of pediatric tumors has gone up 15% in the past three years.

So, sorry to be straight up and forward, but DON'T BE DUMB and buy into all of that BULL of diet fads. Just eat right, and treat your body with RESPECT.

Good luck,

Leen
