Luxor - Egypt


Hi all,

I'll be travelling next week with a female friend, would appreciate any tips on what to do, where to go, what to avoid and how to be safe as i've not been to the middle east before.

i found a great train site for all globae travel check it out it got awesome information::: seat61.com
you can even contact the man in seat 61....they are very helpfull n non profit...

I will be ther next month from April 10th to 16th...
My plans are to stay in cairo 1 day to see pyramids, and museum, then move tosharmal sheikh for Mt Sinai and st catherine..(its best if u se ethe sunrise at mt sinai)
then i will take a boat fuloota to Aswan from sharmalsheikh one day there then to Luxor by train or bus and then Abusibmble by bus one day in each place ..
i will come back from Aswan via night train or Flight to jump on my next RTW destination to London..
all in 6 days and 7 nights i know it wll be mad ruish but i have to do it..and willl

Adil - thank you, seems like you had an awesome time and we do plan to go and see the pyramids! will look at the safest way for us explore things.

NsW - thank u too! I have been in touch with Intelligence and Heeray , they have given me a whole load of advice!

might want to email the brotehr and sister power duo of fkureshi and sarahk216 who're pretty helpful and are there right now.

otherwise my comment is that it definitely pays to go off the travelled path here! when we were in that area, some friends and i hired a driver to take us to the most remote pyramids we could find and that was one of the best days we had the whole egypt trip. u haven't really experienced an ancient old-world pagan tomb until u've been deep deep in the burial chamber of a cursed king with 2 million tons of granite on top of you, by yourself, with just a flashlight. :)
