i love the natak act he does with aruna irani when he asks his dad for money for a new show. and the lyrics to the actual stage show musical was out of this world. brilliant. (does anyone remember it?) i wish he wasn't so arrogant/distant now. where'd the humble 'mahaan' era amitabh go?

Oh man, I almost forget about the phone song. Nazar athee hai ... Amitabh was so much better playing an older guy back then .. compared to playing naturally now.

The sons .. he played the contrasting roles so well. Once crazy, one straight forward.

The best is near the end when they unite and he goes .. ek baap, aur do betay.

The cast was awesome ..

Jidhar dekhta hoon...teri tasveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer! There's never been a song on the telephone quite like that one! The one in Baghban reminded me of it though!

i like the score music when the mustached police officer amitabh is driving away from amjad khan in the helicopter. and then when he passes out, the dood wakes him up. or when she asks the picture to smile. or when amitabh wears his white suit and goes for the rishta. and then they sing the song with the gun shots. and yeah, saamp sahib is tight. and the best is the hey barathar song where they are swinging from the work out stuff

After searching far and wide I ended up finding it in DVD by fluke at a local Markam, Ontario Video store.
The DVD print is not bad at all!!! Songs are pretty cool! Great cast too with

dude, absolutely. and that stage act number was hilarious -- i haven't been able to find the music/lyrics to that. remember the scene where he encounters the snake in the grass ... "saanp saab" hahaha, i could talk about this film forever.

omg. i can't believe i just found this village. MAHAAN IS LIKE MY FAVORITE MOVIE IN THE WHOLE WIDE UNIVERSE. i've been watching that film since i was 4. the soundtrack is awesome. none of my friends ever knew what the heck i was talking about since it was a pretty underrated film. i love you tina. ok i'm going to stop before i start crying.

mahaan was the best! ive been looking for it on DVD.. havnt found it anywhere... not in jackson heights.. not in pindi.. i dont think it exists....

i wish i had the soundtrack too... not just the songs.. but like the theme music... id be driving around with my collar up, hero style for surrre.
