Chameli: Which American movie did they copy for this Indian flick?

Yeah, I agree, it was dumb -funny, with good songs. The mother0i0law was good. She liked Sush which was cute. Pyaare should have been killed off in the movie (waste of character). In the MAerican version, also, Goldie Hawn plays the character Katrina Kaif played. She was much more sincere in not wanting to be the "homebreaker."
Of course, kahan Goldie Hawn, and kahan Katrina Kaif (not much of a comparison based on talent and potential).

This movie was hilarious. I gotta say, Salman Khan is not really a bad actor..he just gets lots of dumb roles. but this was pretty good...kudos Salman

Mujhe Se Shaadi was a carbon copy of the original and the original was really good - I mean how can you copy such a wonderful film. The concept of Cactus Flower was very simple and allowed for considerable variation.

Despite having glaringly huge plot-holes, I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It had me in tears from laughter. And, I don't usually enjoy slapstick comedy movies at all. In fact, I was fully expecting to loathe this movie (I hated "Mujhse Shaadi Karoge"). But, for some reason, this one just hit all the right notes with me. Salman Khan was great too... and, again, I'm not a huge fan. So, basically, if you're looking for a few laughs, then definitely watch this movie.

Thanks for sharing Lubnah, I really feel that it was missing in the film. However, it does look like they deleted some scenes there as was seen in the outake...I wish they had not done that...Plus the DVD version did not contain deleted scenes.

avas..i agree with you...i didnt see any real love salman was showing for sush...but it was a comedy...and i thought it was funny...i think sohail khan and arshad warsi were hilarious...

I saw this film and enjoyed it. Of course there were some cheezy scenes. The film is a copy of Cactus Flower - Walter Matteau, Ingrid Bergman and Goldie Hawn. It received nearly six oscar nominations and two oscars...one was for Goldie Hawn as best supporting actress.

I have not see the American Version yet but am looking for it. What I do know that in this film, the dentist in the American one is a womanizer and does not want to get married hence the reason he gets a pretend wife. In this one he wants to get a pretend wife cause he wants to marry the girl.

Also towards the end, Salmaan really did not show any love for Sushmita - he just gave her some flowery words and stood there...it was the mother-in-law who coaxed her back.
