Here's some advice from my personal experiments: If you want the celebrity, natural touseled waves look, then you have to use very large rollers and less product--just a little hair spray at the end. If you want kinky wavy hair, then its all about product so go crazy with gel, curling products, mouse and scrunch away. If you want the salon "wavy" look, use a heated waver, which looks like a flat iron except it has waved plates instead of flat plates. Finally, if you have some time, another technique I've used often is to load your hair with mousse and make a few, thick braids in damp hair. Spot treat those braids with heat from a blow drier and then take out the braids. The waves that result will look great.

put mousse in your hair when its damp and scrunch away. finish it off with light hold hairspray - use curl ENHANCING products. good luck! :D

oooh good question! i love the wavy look. i have straight hair. whenever i use rollers or the iron, it's always a hit or miss for me! and i tried velcro rollers too - waste of money! they never stay on?
