i attended manarat al-riyadh, Boys English section, from 1993-1998. like many of the people who posted, i also have very mixed feelings about my experiences there. Yes, it helped to build a part of my character. But there were many, well, bizarre aspects to the school. For example, for a year, my english teacher turned out to be originally a boxer from Ireland. But, yet, there was this one very memorable teacher I had for another year, I think he was Irish-American by the name of Sean O'Flynn.

I have many memories of my classes at manarat al-riyadh. Part of what made the experience still vivid in my mind was that in our section, our class had competed with another class to see who can be the most roudy and mischevious!!!!!! Sometimes it took a toll on our learning b/c of disruptions, but sometimes (now that I look back) it was immature but slightly funny.

Yeah, I believe whatever I am today is because of Manarat-ul-Riyadh- be it good or bad lol

Even though all my friends have moved to different places, if we ever get together- it's unbelievable how much fun we have :)

Not to mention, the many many many years it took to build the NEW manarat-ul-riyadh.. they opened it right after we left :(

Maaaaad did I hate manarat ... but now, looking back I don't think there is a better place out there. It build a person's charater in a way that no other school does.

Me too....exactly! I did make some really great friends there and that made all the difference!
