I agree FON 100% with you!

I think more importantly is having same religion....If you have common Religion and are on the SAME page with religion, then you will have respect for one another, and your difference....weather it be culture or other differences.

could be yes or no... depending on the outlook/ commitment of the individuals (and how much their families do or don't interfere)

eg. i married someone whose parents were more traditional.. he later decided he was totally traditional too.. when my family and i had made it clear that we were slightly more westernised.

there is no reason why marriages like the one you describe shouldn't work though.. what you need to ask yourself is.. if one partner IS more traditional (eg due to upbringing) and the other person less so, what happens when the traditional person decides to become a little more religious/ traditional or the liberal person a bit more so..

will the divide increase or will there still be enough tolerance.. i think it's a matter of personalities and possibly why some arranged marriages tend to work.. because the backgrounds are well matched.
