marry a Muslim American

I honestly think that it would be great to be able to marry a Muslim American, since I'll most probably be living in the US in a couple of years. Well, as far as I've seen from this site, Bosnian Americans are real cute and smart, and I guess the very same thing is likely to be true for Pakistani girls, lol :p just kidding... Sure everyone else should have equal chances regardless of nations, or is this my biased view? hehe... Your Turkish friend ~Can

Supergirl, I know you :) And Sabila, I still hope you'll respond me. And I have to say that Most of the Pakistani girls here look so cute :) And Yes, I'd say yes to Both Mandy Moore and Jessica Simpson, but Many Moore is the type I'd prefer because of her innocence and emotional looks (and she's half English half Indian!) Actually just in terms of looks, anyone could be your type regardless of ethnicity. Rather you're inclined to certain cultures though.

"he wants Bosnians, and Turks, Pakistanis. No mutt Americans."
Hey T-dog, I didnt say that! I was just imagining, and only leaning on the cultural side. I even asked my parents what the would feel if I married to a non-Muslim, non-Turkish person, and they have all said yes. I can marry anyone of any race, and I'm pretty open-minded. But on the cultural basis, the most exciting culture to me has always been the Slavic one (because of my Ukranian Grandfather, and Balkanian origins), and it would be cool to marry someone like that, but I dont strictly say that its the necessarily way to go, lol! I wouldnt say "no" to Mandy Moore, for example, lol :P just kidding!

Great quotations from T-Dog!!! I feel as if I'm lectured from a Psyconologic history class! Thank you T-Dog for all the valuable ideas that you've put here and shared with us :)

"At the heart of it, marriage is a social and economic pact that has evolved throughout the centuries"
Such a fantastic definition! :) This is what I was looking for! Thank you Sabila :) (But I still dont understand why we dont correspond!)

Hello! There's been so many comments on this issue, wow :) I've things to read and comment now :) Well, first of all, you guys (and girls, lol) can you pls tell me what an "Auntie" is? and T-dog, you're right that we shouldnt put limits to the one that we suppose suitable for us, but there are some considerations. For example, me with some Slavic heredity in me, have always found the Bosnian culture interesting, and a Bosnian person, because of her cultural background would excite me, regardless of her character. And the religion is not the determining factor in my choice but still has some influence since it effects the way we live and our culture common points etc. Well, actually I just thought that it would be cool to marry a Bosnian American girl since I'd already be excited in the culture, language and there would be fewer cultural conflicts etc. But I can still marry a Christian girl from another ethnicity, I dont have any precondition about that!

Senordeny, it's hard. I guess that's all I can say. It's really hard to make a marriage work. You won't be happy all the time, but if you're happy none of the time, then there's a problem.

Senordeny, ha, ha! No offense, but I can tell you that it will matter. You can love a person to bits, but just become frustrated and sick and damn tired of washing that floor when that other person keeps tracking in the mud. I'm just using that as an example. It never happened for us, lots and lots of other things happened instead. I still love my husband to death, but I can't be shackled to him anymore or I'll either kill him or myself in another 4-5 years. Lol...

T-dog, I agree with you, Marriage is less "economic pact" nowadays. Marriage is about give and take. I mean if you are to spend the rest of your life with someone, there will be a some hair in the sink, the toilet seat may be left up sometimes, there might even be some mud, but if you truly love the person, it won't matter :) I am saying you can't take LOVE out of the marriage, cause if you do then it becomes a business contract.

Senordeny, I think Sabila is just saying after the honeymood ends (not a misspell - honeymoon mood) then real life begins. It's one thing to be all gaga over one another and passionately unable to stop touching one another. That's fabulous. But it's not always like that. Eventually you're going to leave hair in the sink and he's going to leave the toilet seat up. You're going to wash the floor and he'll track mud in. You're going to want to go shopping and he just can't stop pondering a puzzle from work he can't work through. You need more than just love is blind to keep things together. And the history of marriage was just a social and economic pact between two families. It had rarely anything to do with love. That was HISTORY; this is now. Now we can make our own money and we don't have to depend on our parents to pay our way or then next a husband whom they chose for us. We as men don't have to be sold a daughter to forge a relation between two families, we can wait and pick one of our own desires.
